Paramārthasāra

Abhinavagupta's Paramārthasāra reworks an earlier Sāṃkhya-leaning verse treatise attributed to Ādiśeṣa into a nondual Śaiva summary. The rewriting keeps the compact didactic form while reframing cosmology, bondage, and liberation in Trika terms — making it one of the most approachable introductions to his system. The text was transmitted with Abhinavagupta's own brief commentary tradition and later Kashmiri exegesis. Modern Sanskrit editions and the GRETIL encoding (Marino Faliero / Gandharva-nagaram) preserve the verse text used in contemporary study.
